While touring through the Dordogne region of south-west France; in a castle there, I saw an interesting painting of a dark grey, tornadoes type cloud that implied the shape of the upper torso face and hair of a woman. Although I didn't create the piece for a few years and it is very different from the painting; that beautiful painting was what inspired "Woman in the Wind" which was later shortened to simply "Wind". I have had many people say it is their favorite piece I have done.
After creating her, I used her to learn my craft to the finish by casting her in bronze myself at a local student foundry. It was all quite a learning experience and made me truly appreciate the work that is done by my foundry.
